Job Location: Kitchener / Waterloo (Ontario)
As a Product Development team member, the Product Development Specialist is responsible for developing and launching products in the business unit.
Responsibilities: (not limited to)
- Develop new products in the Automotive Business Units as assigned that meet specification, cost, quality, functionality, launch schedule, safety, and manufacturing requirements
- Accountable for the creation and maintenance of BOM, Process Specs, Control Plans, & FMEA’s to be successfully communicated to all affected teams
- Identify and execute continuous improvement projects of cost quality and & capacity improvement as assigned.
- Coordination of cross-functional teams for trial planning and root cause analysis activities
- Liaise with customer and internal sales team overseeing program operation.
Knowledge Base (not limited to)
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or equivalent
3+ years of experience in a medium to large manufacturing environment in a product development role.
Knowledge of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Polyolefin (TPO), polyurethane (PU), or other grade automotive thermoplastics fabrication and process are beneficial.
